Distance Learning: Parent Letter

Waller Students and Parents, Thank you for your support and patience this school year. We will be in Distance Learning next week. Included with this letter you will find our Distance Learning Bell Schedule that we will follow during this week. Teachers will post their lessons on Google Classroom each morning by 9:00am. Teachers will host office hours to help any student from 9:00am to 9:30am and also from 2:55pm to 3:45pm. This is time that is set aside for any students to contact teachers either via email, phone, or google meet to get support or help on their homework. Starting at 9:30am we will begin our Distance Learning Bell Schedule. We will start with 1st period and move through 7th period with lunch after 3rd period. Teachers will be available during this time only to the students that are enrolled in that particular class. Students will need to check their Google Classrooms for assignments daily during each period. Students may have a live lesson on Google Meet or instruction may be delivered with a video. It is important to note that we will be taking grades, monitoring participation, and moving forward with lessons as usual. To clarify students will have a minimum of two grades per week in each class. Parents please have your child check in with their classes daily as we are moving forward with instruction. Advisory will be at the end of each day. Students need to work on Istation on Monday and Tuesday for ELA. Students need to work on Imagine Math on Wednesday and Thursday. These programs will build their reading and math skills. Friday we want students to read during this time. If you have any questions please reach out to us at 580-366-7900. EPS will be in communication with families regarding when students may return to school for in person instruction. Athletics will not be taking place when we are in Distance Learning. We hope everyone stays safe and well at home. Thanks for your support. Go Waller!! Waller Team
